Installation

Dependencies, replace the default chat, server.cfg order, and a quick test.

Check dependencies#

Make sure these are installed and starting before 0r-chat:

  • ox_lib
  • A framework: es_extended, qb-core, or qbx_core

Player names, job tags, and framework admin checks rely on that framework bridge. No database or SQL setup is required.

Add the resource#

Drop the folder into your server as 0r-chat.

Replace the default chat#

This resource uses provide 'chat', so it stands in for the stock chat resource.

Stop or remove the default chat resource from your server.cfg. Leaving both running can cause a double chat UI or conflicting handlers.

Update server.cfg#

cfg
ensure ox_lib

# your framework
ensure es_extended # or qb-core / qbx_core

ensure 0r-chat

Start ox_lib and your framework before 0r-chat.

Optional ACE permissions#

Announcements are allowed for framework admins or players with ACE command.announcement (or command.<name> if you rename the command in config).

For author tags, grant the ACE keys you list under tags.ace.data (for example chat.admin).

Configure and test#

  1. Join the server and press T (default) to open chat.
  2. Try /me waves and /do The door is open. — nearby players should see the message and a 3D bubble.
  3. Open the plus menu → settings to switch themes and tweak layout.
  4. If you have admin access, send /announcement Test and confirm everyone receives it.

There is no SQL to import. Message history and UI preferences live in memory / client storage only.

If something fails, check the FAQ.
