Node View and Material Chains

Inspect recipe relationships without changing world placement.

Node view presents the same shared restaurant draft as the normal forms. Use it to inspect material relationships, alternative methods and missing work-point coverage. You can always complete the same authoring through the normal editor.

Open and read the flow#

Use Open node view from Recipes, Materials or manual Operation Points. A recipe relationship action can focus a selected recipe. The toolbar provides recipe/operation filters, search, focus and canvas tools.

Node view showing separate Grilled tomatoes and Tomato soup recipes with their input and output materials

The graph shows separate Grilled tomatoes and Tomato soup recipes. For the connected Chopped tomato chain, follow First Custom Production.

A recipe frame groups its input materials, operation and outputs. Supply sources connect offers to the materials they provide. Arrows indicate the configured direction and quantity, not an automatic execution schedule.

Trace a simple chain#

For a soup setup, read Tomato → Cutting → Chopped tomato → Cooking → Tomato soup, with Water also entering Cooking. Check that the intermediate's unit and quantities match both methods. The finished soup must use Count and the finished output role.

Staff explicitly execute Cutting, then Cooking with the resulting inventory material. The graph does not move products automatically between stations or calculate guaranteed profit.

Create and edit records#

  • Right-click or double-click empty canvas space, or use Add to flow, to add a record.
  • Double-click a record or relationship to open its owning editor.
  • Right-click a record for the applicable Edit, Duplicate, Delete or connected-record actions.
  • Drag between compatible ports to connect existing records.
  • Drop a port onto blank space to choose an existing compatible record or create the next material/recipe.

Recipe direction can prefill an input/output choice. Finished output creation defaults to Count. Review the actual form before applying it. Choose compatible inputs, outputs and roles. Fix any reported field before applying the form.

Inspect operation-point coverage#

Independent work points are not material-flow nodes. A custom recipe1's point summary shows compatible points or a missing/disabled/unplaced warning. Open the summary to edit/place the owning point.

Switch from Recipe flow to Operation Points for the grouped point overview. Select a point to inspect its compatible recipes or Supply offers. Compatibility means the operation/filter matches; it does not mean a point is currently free or reserved for your character.

Select a recipe to show that recipe and its connected Supply sources. All recipes restores the full flow. Search and operation filters further narrow the view. Focus selection zooms to the chosen record; clear the selection to restore the counts and legend.

Alternative recipes may produce the same intermediate. Valid material cycles are informational and still require each explicit recipe execution and its inputs. Inspect the listed quantities rather than assuming an infinite or automatic chain.

Save layout separately from world location#

Dragging a node, resizing a frame or grouping records organizes the editor. It does not move a cutting board in GTA. Search/filter selection is local view state. Saved layout edits use Save draft but do not change production or reset kitchen work by themselves.

Material, recipe, offer and point edits made from the graph are real draft edits. Apply their forms, Save draft and Publish when they change gameplay. Open the explicit world picker to move a station. See Placement and Save and Publish.

Try the complete custom example#

Use Your First Custom Production to apply these rules to one Supply point, a Cutting recipe, a Cooking recipe and their exact ingredient quantities.
