Ready Recipes and Custom Recipes

Choose a Template workflow or a Manual ingredient-processing kitchen.

Choose the workflow you need before adding materials or placing stations. Ready products and custom recipes use different setup forms and placement steps.

Compare the two paths#

QuestionReady recipeCustom recipe
Where does it come from?Product preset catalog in a template restaurantAdd custom recipe in a manual restaurant
What work can it perform? Its built-in preparation steps, such as Pizza rolling or Taco foldingOne selected processing operation
Where is it placed? On its own recipe stepsAt independent compatible Operation Points
Does it consume ingredient inventory?Preset production supplies its configured ingredientsPublished inputs are consumed under the manual recipe flow
Can its final result become an ingredient?Follow the preset's allowed ingredient choicesUse the intermediate Material output role when appropriate
Can I change anything?Supported labels, durations, output fields and placement exposed by the editorOperation, duration, shared input/output selections and quantities within validation

A ready recipe1 is the appropriate choice when you want the product's specialized gestures, equipment and serving presentation. A custom recipe2 is appropriate when you want to process inventory materials through your own chain.

Choose the right restaurant type#

A Manual restaurant offers custom recipes, independent Operation Points and Supply offers. It cannot add ready presets. A Template restaurant offers the ready catalog and hides custom recipe and independent-point creation.

Choose the restaurant type in Templates and Maps. To use Pizza rolling or another ready minigame, add its ready preset. Naming a custom operation Pizza does not add that minigame.

Example: a custom soup chain#

  1. Define Tomato in Gram, Chopped tomato in Gram, Water in Milliliter and Tomato soup in Count.
  2. Create a Cutting recipe that consumes Tomato and produces Chopped tomato as an intermediate material.
  3. Create a Cooking recipe that consumes Chopped tomato and Water and produces Tomato soup as a finished product.
  4. Create separate Cutting and Cooking points, then configure Supply offers for the raw inputs.
  5. Place, save and publish the setup.

Staff run each recipe explicitly. Producing Chopped tomato does not automatically start Cooking. The graph illustrates the relationship; it is not an automatic factory scheduler.

Example: ready Taco#

Add the Taco preset, review its Supply, Cooking and Preparation steps, and place those step locations. Staff use its beef/chicken/tortilla flow and ingredient camera. Add the ready Taco preset to get these preparation steps.

Read Taco Preparation for cooking and folding controls, and the Taco setup guide for station placement. Use the corresponding Product Guide for other ready products.

What to do next#

For custom recipes, first define Materials, then author Recipes and Operation Points. For ready recipes, use the catalog and review every step, including any missing placement. Both paths still need active staff, enabled publication, valid inventory setup and appropriate final usage profiles.

Complete one working example#

For a ready kitchen, follow Your First Working Restaurant, using Taco. For a Manual kitchen, follow Your First Custom Production, using two separate Tomato soup recipes.
